The HEOP summer program is required of all incoming HEOP students and it provides intensive and comprehensive training to prepare you for your first year of college/university. The experience is designed to assist you with the transition from high school to college, create and develop strong peer-networks, and connect you to the services available to you through the program and the campus. The summer program is also a great opportunity to explore your new home! 

As an HEOP student, you will have access to a number of additional academic support systems on campus, including personal and academic counseling, tutorial support services, and career counseling. Many HEOP programs also host a number of workshops, networking opportunities, and other programs aimed at ensuring success before and after graduation.

Many HEOP programs have workshops and programming designed to develop and support creating cohesive bonds with other HEOP students and program staff. Many HEOP programs sponsor peer-mentoring programs, student leadership opportunities, advocacy efforts, service activities, and social and community building programing. HEOP is a strong community that provides many opportunities for engagement and collaboration.  Be sure to check with the program you are interested in to see what they have to offer!
